CASE STUDY
A Garden Retreat Designed for Outdoor Living
Our clients envisioned a garden that would serve as a true extension of their home—an inviting retreat where they could socialise, dine, and unwind while staying connected to the natural beauty of their surroundings. The brief called for a space that felt tranquil and organic, yet offered practicality and clearly defined areas for everyday use.
Designing for Outdoor Living
To bring this vision to life, we created a layout that blends structure with softness, ensuring each functional zone feels both purposeful and harmonious within the wider landscape. The design balances contemporary outdoor living amenities with a sense of calm, making the garden suitable for both lively gatherings and peaceful moments of relaxation.
A Central Dining Hub Surrounded by Water
At the heart of the garden is a central decked dining area, designed as a destination space.
A beautiful timber bridge leads guests onto the deck, which sits elegantly above a surrounding reflective water pool. This feature not only frames the dining area but also enhances the atmosphere with gentle movement and natural light reflections, creating a serene and immersive setting for outdoor meals.
Seamless Flow Between Key Areas
To ensure ease of movement and practicality, paving pathways connect the dining zone to both the kitchen and the outdoor BBQ area. This thoughtful layout allows the clients to transition effortlessly between cooking, entertaining, and relaxing—ideal for everyday living and social occasions alike.
A Natural Retreat With Everyday Functionality
By integrating water, timber, and planted elements, the garden feels deeply rooted in nature, while the structured pathways and defined zones support modern lifestyles. The result is a beautiful, multi-purpose outdoor retreat that encourages connection with the landscape without compromising on comfort or usability.
